Are the grease fittings on our Yannies a universal or common thread size? Does anyone know what that size is? I now have two fittings that will not accept the grease and another one that is broken, so, I'm going to put new ones all around. thanks.

While I can't remember the sizes, they are metric. I have replaced some of mine. local auto parts store should have them

I'm not 100% sure because I'm not at my office but I believe they are almost all 6mm.

Take one out, and take it to a real auto parts store. They can match it.

Or order them from Hoye.

I keep a jar of SAE zerks and a blister-pack of metric ones in the shop since I seem to need a couple per year. Just a normal maintenance item.

on the 2210 and the 3110 some are 6mm and some 8mm

The thing about tapered metric threads in M8 and M10 sizes is that you also need to know if they are 1, 1.25, or 1.5 threads per mm (basically, fine or coarse thread). You can check the on-line McMaster-Carr catalog for various style availability.

Once I replace all the fittings I will most definitely keep some extras on hand. I dislike not having routine maintenance items on hand. I try to keep extra oil/fuel filters, oil, pre-mixed coolant, 90W oil, diesel fuel (but only a few gallons) etc, etc, on hand all the time.

local auto parts store had the fittings. i got all replaced for about $7. nice to have new fittings and proper grease job. replacements are actually better than original because I got the type with a 45 degree turn. makes it a lot easier to grease when the fitting is facing towards the grease gun.
