ZD21 Hydraulic Lift

I recently purchased a used Zd21. It worked very well except now, the hydraulic lift will not lower the deck. I think it needs hydraulic fluid but ido not see a filler hole. If anyone has an answer I would appreciate it very much! I do not have dealer close enough to take it, besides I like to work on my own stuff.

Flip the seat up and your filler and transmission dipstick are right there. The back side of the deck adjustment knob can be seen here also...Just in case there is something wrong that you can see.

How well does the ZD21 work on sandy areas where the grass is thin? Do its front wheels dig in and make trenches? The wheels of my rear-mount 6ft finish mower do. Also, how does it perform on bumpy areas?
