Hey folks, I'm new to the site and I have a mower question.
I'm looking at a 2009, ZD 326 zero turn, with 2200 hours on it. My question is, should I be concerned by the hours?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If it has been maintained properly and the price is right I wouldn't be overly concerned about the hours on it. It must have been used commercially (its design intent), can they provide the maintenance logs? The recommended schedule is oil change every 100 hours and hydraulic change is every 400 hours.

I'm meeting with them today and I'll ask for the records. They said it has been maintained but I'll definitely make sure. Thanks so much. $5500 seems like a good price.

We have one out that exceeded 7275 hours last spring. I haven't talked with him this year to see how many it has now but he is commercial and at that point he was repairing a spindle with new bearings. It was operator error as it was a bit dry, the worst part is the tell tale whine from a bearing goes comes on softly and increases until someone notices it.
What he told me is he changes engine oil every 100 hours, transmission every year, new blades once a year. He stated he has put on two deck belts and several of the gauge wheels.
We do have others out but with no major accumulation of hours like this unit that I know of on this chassis. We have F-series in the 10,000 plus range although they are just on home duty at this point being removed from the commercial work.

Man, that's reassuring to hear. I think going from gas to diesel is where I'm having trouble. I think that Diesel engine should last a while if I take care of it. The truth is, I'll probably put less than 8 hours a week on it. Thanks.

My ZD only has 950h on it.. but they are tanks! I wouldnt sweat 2200h unless it was a disaster! Id do a complete fluid change and service once it was mine though.
