Still a few months until winter, but what do you guys with Z900 mowers (or other brand equivalent) do to store your machines during the winter months?

I'm specifically interested in fuel....use a stabilizer? Run the tank empty (which is what I do with my other small gas engines tools)?

The manual states to pull the battery and cover...I'll pull the battery and it'll be in an outbuilding.

Any tips will be appreciated!

I usually just clean up and grease all the fittings, and change the engine oil and filter, sharpen the blades or replace as needed, try to leave the tank low on fuel and triple dose it with Stabil. Then come spring, crank it up and move it outside, fill it with fresh fuel, and it is ready to mow.
There might be some debate on when to change the oil- Fall or spring, but I figure it is better to let it set with clean oil than dirty oil.

I have ruined a couple of batteries using full time battery minders and not checking the water level, so now I just plug them in for a couple of days once a month which seems to work just as well as having them on full time.
