I have not seen the YTH24V48LS in person yet, does anyone know what transaxle is in it?

I don't really need a bigger deck but, I may end up with the GTH24VLS for the Hydro Gear 730. Being a large and tall guy I'm hard on transmissions, I've had the 730 before and it pulled me around well. :)

Hydro produced by Tuff Torq. It has a locking differential.

I THINK Husqvarna quit Tuff Torq and went to Hydro Gear. And I THINK the Hydro Gear is equivalent to the L44 up through the 24 hp models. I THINK you have to go to the 26 hp to get the equivalent of the L60? Torq Tuff.

Sorry to be so unsure of my reply, but I did research the transmission before I bought my GTH26V52LS last year. The difference in the tranny was the only reason that I went to the 26 hp size.

On the other hand, there's nothing wrong at all with the L44. I have a 15 hp Rider 155 that I have over 2,000 hours on. I had considered putting the upgrade kit in that transmission, but heck! It is still going perfectly for over 9 years of abuse. And... the cost for the L44 upgrade runs about $300.

GTH series has hydro gear, other models are still tuff torq.
