Your towing rigs and trailers

Pulled the John Deere 110 TLB from my father in law’s house to my mom’s to dig out some stumps. The 7.3 pulled and braked very nicely just would have preferred using a longer gooseneck for load placement over this short trailer but it worked fine for short distance.

How long and how wide between the fenders?

Here’s the 110s bigger brother. I’ve never measured the wheel base but it’s 7’ bucket and the back wheels are about the same. With the boom down which makes it a little longer it’s 27’ long. The boom is over 11’ tall so I have to put it down. I may end up selling that trailer and buying a pintle hook trailer to pull behind my heavier dump truck.

On some tractors you can rotate the bucket all the way over (dumped to the maximum) and that shortens the overall package a little bit. That might allow you to pull forward 6" to 12" and still leave the bucket on the deck. Not all tractors have enough rotation on the bucket, but you might try that. The load looks fine like it is though.

I’ll have to try that. My backhoe lacks just a little of getting the ramps up ( 1 of 2 things I don’t like about the mega ramps ) and I have to put the bucket on the hitch which doesn’t leave any tie down points if you wanted to chain the bucket and it scratches the trailer.

Here's a picture of my small trailer. I use it mostly for getting wood.

That's what I had to o for my old L3200 on my 16' tilting deck. The only reason that trailer worked was because of the really long tongue. I welded some D rings on to secure the bucket/loader. It needed a longer deck not only to fit a machine on, but to balance most anything. I'm guessing it was built for a skid steer. It was plenty stout with a steel deck & 14k of axles, just tiny.

Photos are of my trial run. I moved to chains after the almost rounded corners of the brush guard half way cut the straps in half in a 10 minute trip around the block.IMG_20140209_110007-1.jpeg

I usually just pull one out at a time and saw it up. If not I saw them up right on the trailer.:)

That is a monster. Sweet trailer I’m sure it pulls very nice with the tandem duals. What is the gross trailer + TLB weight? About 21k?
