Your towing rigs and trailers

My dad traded an Explorer Sport for an F150 Lariat with the 2.7 and he LOVES it. I really want to try out one of the 3.0 Powerstrokes. I fall into the weird category of my daily needs would be filled by an F150 but when it is time to tow or haul anything I'm glad I have my F250.

I'm on my second 2.7 F150, probably the best overall vehicles I've ever had. They just do everything so well, amazing power, efficient when needed, comfy & quiet, tons of room, etc.. Ford really nailed this one. :)

That is what I hear from my dad and two friends that have the 2.7 F150! Best all around vehicle they have had.

Wow, guys, good info! I have been noticing that all the newspaper ads around here for new F150’s have featured the 2.7, and I had assumed it was because they had so many left over because everyone wanted either a 5.0 like I have, or the 3.5 eco-boost.

Check, I have not personally towed with it but my dad uses his to tow his Polaris Ranger and four wheeler together on a 16ft trailer or the Kubota B7200 and 5ft mower on the same trailer 350 miles one way with no issues. Also makes more sense to daily drive about 60 miles round trip than an HD truck. My two good friends also daily drive their 2.7s and absolutely love them.

My brother has the 5.0 so I will have to do a side by side comparison.

Some 2.7EB stats to consider: (My truck)
Pulls my BX & equipment on a 20ft tandem (~5K#'s) like it's not there, and 16-18mpg.
Unloaded daily driving on mixed roads yields 20-22mpg in winter, 23-25 in summer.
Runs a 5.8 sec. 0-60 in 4x4 mode.
More quiet than our last Odyssey.
Yeah, I love this truck! :D

Sharp ride! I remember seeing that pic in the thread. I may go look at a 20ft trailer this weekend. I was set on a light duty gooseneck until we go the Expedition. Now debating between 7k and 10k GVWR car haulers.

Thanks! Yeah, sorry for the double pix post, I did post it some pages back. It's the only pic of my truck on my computer!
