They don't make it very easy or cheap for someone with a vehicle there, do they? I would never, ever live around a metro area like that. For many other reasons than just the getting around and cost too.

Kind of how I feel about San Francisco... I see the beautiful skyline every day but only venture in when hosting guests... SF is a HUGE attractions... especially for those from Europe.

The big cities like SF are also the smash and grab capitals... I have sometimes brought an extra person simply to watch the van when I go to Home Depot... sad but true.

My wife and I just upgraded from a Ford Edge to a 2014 Expedition King Ranch in Kodiak Brown metallic color. It has the max tow package with integrated brake controller and is good for 9200lbs. So far we love it and it can't wait to see how it pulls our Kubota. This will be the family hauler and tractor hauler when we don't need to take the F250. IMG_2440.jpg

Check your payload on the Expedition. It may say it will tow 9200 lbs but I bet that'll kick it over on payload. Nice looking SUV, I like the color combo.

Oh most definitely on the payload. We won't ever use it at that weight anyway. That's when the F250 diesel comes into play! But it should do really well with our BX2360 and a few attachments or anything else similarly sized. This is my wife's daily driver and I love how it handles. The 6R80 transmission (same as F150) kept it in the powerband in the NW GA / NE AL mountains and we got about 19-20mpg on the way home.

Thanks check! She calls it her dream "mom-mobile"! We originally looked at the 2015-2017 models with the Ecoboost 3.5 but the price difference from the 2014s was substantial. So far we are very glad we skipped over the Explorer and went full-size. I think having this is the perfect compliment to the F250 for our family needs.

Yup great wifey-mobile. Too big for many wives, but you scored. My wife drives the Honda Pilot (not the new one, which has morphed into a Jelly Bean), and that is the biggest I could get her to go. When our 2010 finally dies (which may take another 10 years!), we may go to the Explorer. Rumor has it that they are redesigning the Explorer for the 2020 model year, and I hope that it ends up looking better than that awful rounded thing that they turned the Pilot into.

I would have loved to get her in an F150 but she wanted the covered space and optional 3rd row. So the Expedition was the best of both worlds. She was pretty much set on an Explorer but after physically sitting in an Expedition and looking at the different trim levels, that was all it took. It is also nice to get her back into a rear wheel drive truck based platform.

I had been weighing the options of trading in my F250 7.3 Lariat extended cab for a F250 6.7 or F150 3.5 crew cab but the Expedition allows us to tow our BX with plenty of interior room and not have to upgrade the F250 to a crew cab.

I see the Explorer is going to be rear wheel drive and have the engine mounted longitudinally so that is promising!

The power Ford is getting out of the new 3.0EB is ridiculous.... in the new Explorer ST it's 400/415, and in the hybrid Lincoln Aviator it's 450/600!

I want the hybrid F150 with this engine so bad I can taste it! As good as my current 2.7EB is, I can't imagine how sweet this would be! :licking:
