Your towing rigs and trailers

I can't remember offhand I think it's 14 feet x 72 inches, It was a bit of a bearcat getting the floor off, as on the original highway refer van, as they are manufactured, the corrugated aluminum flooring is mounted to hardwood cross-members then those are bolted to the steel trailer cross-members making up the floor of the trailer, then when it is all sandwiched together. It is then urethane foamed about 6 inches thick for insulation purposes. but once all separated and cleaned up, cut to fit ( as one piece) and screwed down, it should make a long lasting, maintenance free deck that won't rust, is unbelievably strong. and well, it looks pretty cool as well. I found that trailer to be a good candidate, is it is heavily built, all the wiring is run inside the tubing frames, so there is very very little exposure to the elements, and well,, I got a good deal on it.
Adding up the costs on the total re-furbishment I think I am close to probably the price of a new wooden decked one, but I now know what I've got and it should still be around when some of the other ones have lived out their day

Cheers

Roger

The old red 87 F-250 deck truck I initially bought for parts, to update the Highboys split rims and perhaps put deck onto, Got it for a couple hundred dollars,.It has brand new rubber on it fresh rebuild 460, 4 speed and the deck is very beefy, towed it home, replaced a bolt on battery post added some gas, charged it for 10 minutes and it fired up and runs like a top..........so what could I do??? I plated it

Highboy is a 75 F-250 390 4 speed Dana 44 / 60
Dodge is an 03 Cummins 5 sp. Had since new ( My go to town truck)

Cheers

Man...I wish I could find a Highboy as clean as that around here. Course, I'd never get to drive it. I have a feeling I'd have to pry my wife from behind the wheel! :D

LOL!! Well My 13 year old daughter has certainly seemed to have claimed Mine. She is always pulling the Rain Man line on Me..... " I'm a good driver!" but she is clutching and shifting like the best of them!! and in her case, it is only a 3 speed!!!!

Cheers

My wife already "claimed" my 1956 Studebaker President Classic and my S&W M&P AR-15. She says I need to buy my own!

my wife says I have turned our hill top into a trailer park, I have four trailers left but I would like one more I would like a shed moving trailer with all the hydraulics but I just can't justify the cost of a new one.
