I started using grey PS and it seams pretty good. I will use the white in the winter for gelling. Do anyone of you mix in some of the grey in the winter with the white to get the higher cetane rating, or is this just a waste.

thanks forum members on this feedback. you know, you just never really know. you look for solid scientific ground on these things, or just field empirical evidence....maybe in the end it really does't matter. in some ways, oil and fuel additives are like religion, you don't know till it's too late. I've been using Howes on my K M8540 for it's 190 hrs so far and never a problem. If I really knew that Opti Lube XPD would make a diff w/lubricricty, I'd hammer the credit card (once again). (but won't do the soy biodiesel thingie) just wanted to run it by y'all and I'll make a subjective decision down the line like most things in my life. thanks again. bb

That's what I was kind of thinking but this is about diesel additives that help lubricity.

Is "BioDiesel" an additive that will help lubricity ?

Yes, and it is cheap!

didn't know biodiesel had lubricating effects till I glanced at the "study"....would one add it as a ratio or just use it?....I probably won't do either....bb

That would be completely up to you.

My fuel come out of the pump blended between 2% and 15% depending on the season and the market.

thanks - its nice to see some factual observations vs the normal "just because I say so" you get a lot of times on forums.. hehe

Anytime. I know what you mean, it's nice to see the proof that backs up a persons statement.

I would recommend it as a ratio - Biodiesel will start to gell above freezing (40 degrees i believe) so unless you have only operating in hot weather you may have problems. Not sure how cold AR gets

a 5% blend is pretty normal - but some ppl blend it up to 20%. Some ppl on here blend it even higher though..
