Those FPE are dangerous in my opinion and there is data to support that. BUT, given the breaker shortage, you might do well to list them on E-Bay.

I replaced many fuse panels in smaller homes with breaker panels. Usually a very miserible job, especially when code doesn't allow connections in the panel. And most modern panels (in the 80s) were much larger than the little fuse boxes.

I had a Sure-Start installed on the 5 ton heat pump yesterday. Had our usual HVAC people do the acquisition & install (probably at double the price of DIY) just in case there were issues. So far so good (no magic smoke has escaped). The HP was noticeably quieter even on the first start after install & before any device learning. Haven't had it on generator power yet, fingers crossed it will perform as intended & reduce the "grunt" from the generator & momentary dip when the HP kicks on.

Hanging out on TBN...... great way to get rid of all that unwanted money !

JK Nik.... these modules do sound like good value for what they deliver. Let us know what "deadlift" noises are coming out of your gen now.

My power went out this morning, I had just put a roaring fire in the woodstove and as it has a jacket, you don't want to run it hot without the fans running. SO, I started my little Honda 2000 and plugged the fans into it.....problem solved.

An hour later the power came back on, and the house was already nice and warm so it was a no big deal at all...

I just finished my generator installation. A little excessive but I should never have to deal with it again other than fuel and oil changes.

Found this diesel 20kw with only 1050 hrs including the 200 gallon tank. It purrs along at 1800 rpm nicely and more air noise than motor noise. The building I built and it's right next to the meter and transfer switch about 200' from the house. We are actually at the end of the line and had to pay the utility to extend their power 3 pole sections just to get to our 8 sections that go's into the property, so we get our power back last depending on the outage.

Pretty snazzy generator shed,
looks good and functional.

Thanks Lou, my first project where I sawed out the lumber. How 'bout that. $300 craigslist door. I probably don't have over $700 in the building.

I'd say you've put that end-of-line problem down, hard

Just a pup, at those hours. Shed - got that tiny-house, craftsman vibe real heavy..... well done.

By what you've chosen, I'd be surprised if you don't know diesels well...... so pls ignore my preaching to the choir...... just be sure to throw a decent load on it, now and then.

Other than that..... allowing for minor oil/filter work........ it should be running @ New Years 2100.
