Your last generator Maintenance Run

I read the 2K and thought, what good is that except to run the fridge and keep the lights going? Maybe furnace fan too. I can get by on 3.7 quite well including water pump. Just that my 3.7 is an air cooled Yanmar 3600rpm Diesel Screamer and not my first choice in my lineup. But I see the set above is actually 20KW. WAY too big for most applications.

I came across this image today. That would be sweet to house all my backup stuff. On the other hand, a persons emergency resources shouldn't be too obvious!

Well, at least it would take more than a couple of guys and a pickup truck to rip that off......

A few years back it was common around here for the same crane truck to come back a few hours after dropping new generators off and pick them up again and take them to a grow op.

Looks to be a fairly small unit by the exhaust size and ventilation probably less than 100kW.

Pretty lousy grow-op, if they couldn't afford to buy a generator.......

Not sure about the thermostat, but I do have a web based level transmitter in my fresh water cistern I can look at my water level on my phone and it sends me a text at my set order water point. The website that this is based on will also text alert if it loses connection with the transmitter. If power goes out my internet will be down. Then I will get the text from my cistern transmitter website notifying me of loss of connection/power out. I am very safe to assume that with the power out the furnace won稚 run. Therefore the temp will be dropping and I should get some to go over and manually connect and start my gen. Luckily in my adult life we have only had 3 power outages greater than 20 minutes.

Thanks for the info.. Oooo do you see the link that is posted next to my message, the reason I ask is I didn't put it there ????

FINALLY! The power went out. Yippy! High Winds. Battery on main 7.5 Onan Diesel, dead. Battery I had lying around, DEAD! Pulled mule up beside building and boosted it. Everything fine.

I had my Utility Power Resoral Alarm inadvertently switched to Light only, as oposed to a loud horn, and the bulb has been burned out for many years. So four hours into the set running, I see a neighbours outside light on and think, wth! Power had come back, transfer made without me knowing and the generator was still running for maybe up to an hour without load and need. Felt kind of stupid! Gotta get a new bulb! It's a regular base bulb like you find in an oven, only probably 140volts for long industrial life. Do they even make those any more?
