Generational differences in point of view are very real as perception often becomes reality.

This week nurses were complaining about an older man returning for cataract surgery for his other eye…

He said with one eye now cataract free he could see all the lovelies and referred to the attending nurses as his harem…

We had another very old Irish patient with heavy accent ask the nurse if the Chinaman is the anesthesiologist.

The nurses quickly hushed him and he said why the fuss as people have called him the Irishman since the day he came to America…

I've told this here before, but when relatively fresh out of school, my wife and I used to work in the same department with two older engineers who had come out of retirement to help our start-up get off the ground. One day we walk into their office, and one of them stops mid-sentence to look at the other and say, "Doesn't our young one look especially delicious today?"

Engineering used to be a males-only world, some of the older guys had to adjust when the women started appearing among them.

And they still lose billions, have you ever thought about what it takes to get a letter from point A to point B? It's a money loser, especially with the low volume these days.

I don,t understand why we even need Canada Post these days ? I doubt if they have ever not been a huge corporation that looses millions and millions of our tax dollars every year. With so many other ways to move information and parcels way more effectively, and profitable, why do we need Canada Post ?

No private company is going to deliver anything to remote areas for an affordable cost if they are willing to do it at all. We are subsidizing those areas. I am unable to think of any solution to this.

Let it be privatized ! The government cannot run anything efficently, It doesn,t have to be a moneymaker, but can nobody run the Postal service as a business and at least break even ?

The first thing to do is get rid of free rural deliveries.
