Ha! Cute dogs are invaluable to having cute women pay attention.
We used to live next to a university. I took our dog on walks across campus and holy cow it was amazing the attention!!!

Almost fell over dead when I read about him in today’s newspaper, and he will be doing a concert nearby.

There was a PBS show of a fairly recent Peter Frampton concert. I never would have recognized him, but he sounded about the same. He performs sitting down now, due to health issues.
I'm always amazed when some of these guys just keep going. Hopefully, he's not broke, and he just loves what he does.

The impression I got from the newspaper article was that he just loves doing it, and he understands that time isn’t on his side.
If tickets aren’t like 200 or 300 bucks each, I just might talk my wife into going.
