Actually, well past the "edge"...she's 75, born in 1948.

I remember her like yesterday being the girl in Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” video.

ISTR her getting into trouble for her appearance there since she wasn't a member of whatever union you have to belong to in order to be in a music video.

Christmas was great but I got yet another reminder that I’m getting old.

We had a bunch of younger nieces and nephews over Christmas Eve. I had Dean Martin and Bing Crosby Christmas songs going as background music.

My 18 year old niece asked “who is singing”?

I said “Bing Crosby, maybe the best singer ever”. She looks at me and says “who is that”.

OMG in their language.

After much discussion and and a brief survey, turns out NONE of the kids 18 or under had any clue whatsoever about Bing Crosby, Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra. Not a clue.

I am getting old!!!

Have to laugh. My 19 year old wouldn’t know Dean Martin, but he knows Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Tony Bennet. When we were out in California in August, he actually has them on this playlist that we listen to in the rental car.

My dad had me listening to the Glenn Miller Orchestra when I was a kid, and he did the same thing with my boy when he lived with us.

The boy has a bunch of Andrew sisters songs on his playlist as well.

He calls it “Gramps playlist”.

She got in hot water because she did the video for free. She had joined the Screen Actors Guild but didn’t know, as part of the Union, she couldn’t perform for free.

Another singer who is old is Mick Jagger.
I've always been a Stones fan but his latest (Angry) really shows that it's time to hang it up. I understand that he needs money to support all of his kids, but maybe he could write his memoirs or something.
