Yes, male life expectancy has increased.
But living "longer" than my father, in absolute terms seems "normal", living to an age greater than my father is a goal!

My 98 yo Mom passed at home Friday at 4:42pm, I, my wife & her caregivers were with her. I'll make funeral arrangements Monday 17th...ironically our wedding anniversary together 53 years.

Wow… I hope we can all live that long, and have such an interesting life. My condolences for you, but it sounds like she had a great, long life.

Thanks all. I spoke with her church minister last night about Mom's funeral and eulogy. He said the last time he saw her at church was a couple months ago and spoke with her after services. Out of the blue he said he asked her "What is the meaning of life?".
She replied: "To learn to love".
