You Know You Are Old When

The teachers I had in school were half my age now +-.
Now there is a steady stream of them in the obits. Some are already gone a long time.
As of about a month ago non of my parents contemporaries are dwelling above ground.
Actually mine are starting to drop off with regularity. It pays to keep at least one suit cleaned and ready to go. Maybe for me?
Should surprise everyone and show up in my birthday suit. Don't want it to be like a woman's bride's made dress, once and out.
That new car you bought when you started working is 50 years old.

My wife and I still have our first car ever, and we've been together 53 years this year.
Hers was worth way less when we met, but worth a lot more now:
Hers...'55 Belair 2dr Sd her Mom bought new.
Mine...'66 Rambler American 4dr 220, since '70
She still has her first new car she ordered when we met. Pontiac Formula Ram Air 4 spd.
27K original miles & paint.
That's probably unusual.

Almost unheard of.

My first car would be 65 years old.
My first car is 96 years old… second is 68 years old.

My old car is 120 years old.

I must be old.

But you are wise.
I enjoy reading your posts and your stories of the “old country”.

My grandfather sold his first car to somebody who cut it down for a tractor, which was common practice 90 years ago. It made him sick, as he took good care of it.
He never sold another car.

Doodlebug they called those, at least here in Virginia. My Grandad had a '36 Chevy school bus, the body removed for hauling hay. I remember most anything would be made into a doodlebug.
