I am in the process of developing food plots for deer in NE PA. Very rocky soil. Had decided that disc and spring tine harrow were my best bets for shallow tilling. Then I heard about scarifiers for landscape rakes. I need a landscape rake anyway and adding scarifiers seems like a good solution to my shallow tillage need. I talked to my dealer about the situation and he agreed that it probably would suffice. Although I don't know that dealer well enough to read whether he's just trying to sell equipment. Is there any reason to think that it won't work??

Depends how big the rocks are for you might not get penetration.

That's the way I would go,break the ground good than feather off top w/rake...they don't call us the granite state for nothing up...rocks are our second crop. ;)
