Kenmac,

Thanks for your advice. I really do appreciate it. But that 6 month parts and labor warranty was with the YM2000 that I had. A guy a couple miles up the road has it now and uses it regularly.

The YM2500 that I bought only came with a 30 day parts warranty. No labor was included, but they put a 'new' control valve assembly on for free, since I had problems with it the very first day I had it. But it still isn't fixed.

Aaron,

Yes, you have helped. I honestly didn't know that brand new 'expensive' tractors did that also. I'll probably be tearing it dow as soon as I get off this turn-around. I'll be ordering parts from you, along with a service manual, when I decide to fix it.

Thanks

Travis

I can't remember .But I think the tractor I bought directly from fredricks had either a 90 day parts & labor or 6 mo parts & labor warranty. This type warranty may not be offered anymore or the person that you bought must not offer this same warranty. But, when I bought mine, I was told it had bumper to bumper warranty

Bumper to bumper...........considering that tractors don't have bumpers, is that like the old 90 days or 90 feet warranty? :D

Kenmac,

Have you had any problems with your tractor?

Only front wheel seal & bad tach. I didn't even return it for that very easy repair. Just had them send parts

Travis my 2210 will leak down but it takes hours. I don't leave any thing up though. My front end loader don't leak down but I don't leave it up either. I did not think LMTC's story was appropriate but I did like the story. I myself did not picture you as he obviously did but I think the story itself is the best thing he has ever said on the forum. Doc...dead men do bleed... what hoot. good one LMTC.....good one. Now Travis I would say that if ur unit leaks down with a medium load in minutes that you should look into improving it. You do seem to have a valid concern and I think a pretty good attitude.....

Kenmac,

Yeah, I wouldn't complain about a front wheel seal or bad tach either. I honestly don't even consider those as 'problems'.I would end up fixing them though.

Great,

I do try to be fair to people. There's always 2 sides to every story.

With my finish mower attached, it takes probably 5 minutes or less to leak down. Now granted, I always drop my implement to the ground when I kill the engine. I just know that its not supposed leak down, but I have to at least try to attempt to fix it- for my peace of mind.

Once i get off this turn-around, i'm gonna look in to it.

Thanks,

Travis R

Well I don't always do thing right. Left a motor up in the air on my 2210 for 3 or 4 days.with the boom pole . Was working on my wife's lawn tractor last week it stay in the air for 2 days behind the 2210 .

Well Giz I guess that is why they put that stop valve on there. So u can leave ur engine in the air while u cool ur wifes heels.......

With the engine running does the implement drop a little and is then lifted back up. I have a very heave MC pick up mower that will do on my tractor but fnone of the other implements leak sown. My SAtor Beaver that I rebuilt the cylinder and valve on will hold anything up for a week.

Normmm, I assume that you are talking about the lift "hick-upping". NO, it doesn't do that.
With the engine at idle and the position control lever all the way up, the implement is about half-way up......When I give the engine some throttle, the implement goes to the maximum height position. But when I back down off the throttle- to idle, the implement will go back down to half-way again.....And of course, when the engine is killed, the implement will drop all the way to the ground within several minutes.

Thanks,
Travis

Dat aint rite! Travis that is not the way it should work and you are correct in wanting to make repairs. I would just follow Hoyes advice on repairs and please let us know how it comes out. I know you don't the time to fix it now. I think it could be your cylinder but I never went to hydraulics school...

Thanks for the reply Brent.

I'm not sure what I need or where to start. I know that I have the mechanical ability to do the job.

Thanks,
Travis R

Good oxymoron. Actually, not knowing what you need or where to start means you don't have the mechanical ability to do the job :)

I agree.....that was a funny story Wayne.

My YM2002d does this. Do you have suggestions for a fix? I don't know if my problem is caused by the same thing that is causing Travis' or are they two different problems. Thanks.

Hello Travis,
I started searching this forum a few weeks ago because my YM2500, which I am trying to sell, has started doing this very same thing. If I leave an implement up with the engine off, within 1 hour it is sitting on the ground. It has not always done this. I have an ITT shop manual on the YM330. While some things may be a little different, it is good enough to give me an idea where to start. Under the troubleshooting section on hydraulics, there is a section that says "Rockshaft falls when engine is turned off". It list several things to check, an O ring that looks like it is on the stop valve stem, an O ring on the piston that is under the cover plate that the stop valve screws into, the spool valve, which is in the body of the control valve, or a weak return spring. I also have just discovered that the rear main seal has started leaking. I am going to hopefully in the next week tear into it to replace the rear main seal and I am also going to check these things in the hydraulics. I want to make sure there are no O rings disintegrating that will progressively get worse. I will post the results here.

Welcome to TBN. Although you may post in this older thread you will get more responses and help if you start a new thread. It is not hard to do. If the 3pt drops it can be in the valve body (Travis's problem) or it could be the seals on the piston that actuates the 3pt. If the 3pt falls when the valve under the seat is closed it is the seals on the piston. If it does not then it is the valvebody.

Mike
