Yanmar YM2200
I recently got an older yanmar ym2200 up and running after about 5 years. I had the head rebuilt and put new head gasket on it along with fuel hoses, filter, and new diesel. I used it with a 4ft brush hog for about 50 mins and it went out on me. It just cranks and doesnt appear to pumping any fuel. I take the fuel cap off and doesnt help. I bleed the line from the bleeder bolt untill nomore bubbles and it trys to start but it just uses the fuel that was in the hose and doesnt suck anymore. Anyone have any idea's I can try? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Have you bleed the lines to the injectors themselves?

Yid you bleed both the pump & filter assembly? If you remove the supply line at the injector pump does fuel flow out? I wonder if there might be a blockage in the line.

A vacuum in the tank? Does the fuel cap vent properly? This can cause a loss of fuel after a short period of time, but not immediately.

Like Soundguy said, bleed your lines at the injector. I bet that will fix it....You have to lose the nuts where the lines connect to the injector. You prob have air there....Then rebleed the system back to the tank!!!!

Are you bleeding all three spots, before and after the filter, and at the pump, in that order? You should not have to bleed the injectors, the pump will take care of that, assuming, of course, it is pumping, (the bleeding is to get airless fuel to the pump). If there are no obstructions in the line, that should work.

I am assuming it is not pumping. I bleed the filter and the lines untill no air in them. I then continue cranking the engine and it doesnt suck any fuel. I also have the fuel cap off and the fuel flows fine when I bleed the line. I am not sure about bleeding the injector itself since I am sort of a newbie to this tractor.

"Are you bleeding all three spots, before and after the filter, and at the pump, in that order?"

Did you do it this way, exactly as stated, 3 screws leading away from the tank, in that order?, (You must have good flow at the pump with no bubbles). If so, and it does not start, loosen an injector and crank it over, if no fuel spray at this time, it's not pumping.
