Hi folks, Merry Christmass to one and all.

I'm about to buy a new Rad cap for my Yanny.
The one on it is a non- return variety [wrong, I know].
It has japanese script on it and is stamped 0.9.

I have checked the Hoye site and my manual and done a search here but can't find a reference to the pressure rating.

I know Hoye have them in stock but I can drop down the road and pick one up in Oz a lot faster than international shipping at christmas time.

Thanks Wombat

Found it under ym240. Thanks TBN.

a .9 would be a 13-14 pound pressure cap. The .9 being "atmospheres." What is standard atmospheric pressure 14.7 or something like that? Therefore, I guess that the cap has .9 of 14.7 pressure rating.

I think a 13 psi cap is standard for the YM's. Somebody correct me, if some models are different.

And I prefer the lever-vent type.

You will need a 13 psi cap.
Saw something unique yesterday that I am going to purchase for my YM1700.
It was a Mr. Gasket 13 psi ThermaCap. It has a temp. gauge built into the cap.
Has anyone else seen or used one of these?

Having to get off and open the hood to check the temp would be a major thing for me. I just put a Temp gauge on my Yanmar when I had it.

If anybody wants to try one and report back to us: In 13 psi they make a 'domestic' and an 'import' ThermoCap. Search amazon.com on 'Mr. Gasket 2472S'. It's about $22 plus shipping there, and higher elsewhere.

I'm tempted to get one just to satisfy my curiosity.

I can get a version of that cap here in Oz but only in 16psi.

I was going to get one in 13 to check the accuracy of my guage.

It should read a bit different[top tank versus head] but should be fairly close I think.
