I thought I just had some water in the diesel. I drained the tank, changed the filter, but it stills blows white smoke, not too too bad, but enough to have me worried. It's alos alot louder than normal. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check the crankcase for water/anti-freeze and check the radiator for oil. Sounds like a head gasket.

Ditto on the head gasket. The part that should really alarm anyone with a Yanmar twin is the "alot noisier than normal" part. If there is water mixing with the oil, it should be pretty apparent at the dipstick as a gooey brownish froth. If it is a head gasket, it's a pretty simple afternoon job. The resulting damage would likely be much more involved.
Best of luck!

I already checked the radiator for oil, (drained and refilled while I was there), and check the dipstick for brownish oil. No oil in the radiator and the oil on the stick looks fine. The oil was dark but I have put alot of hours on it this year, but not brown or frothy. Last year I was faithly putting lucas diesel treatment, this year I got away from it. I hadn't run the tractor much in the last two months and actually due to Katrina, it hadn't run at all in the last 30 or so days. I started it up a few days ago and it stuttered and stalled, that when I noticed quite a bit of water in my filter. I since have added new diesel filter and lucas treatment. Thanks again and I continue checking the oil for water, vis versa.

Did you bleed the air from the fuel line after changing the filter? Is the air filter clean, possibly muffler clogged?

I agree with norm, check for air in the injector lines. Also, did you replace the filter or just drain it? Definatly sounds like a fuel issue to me. Especially if you found water.
