They say tightening the right bolt first seats the hub to the axle with maximum contact surface. So apparently if the left bolt gets tightened first, it could leave slop that becomes wear.

Now I'll check my hubs!

Not much doubt With With Misterbadger's post Shim it if it' been like that for awhile and new Longer Bolts if the springs are Bottomed out. That will keep all the tension of the bolts from the slop and wear and help keep it it from happening again.:thumbsup:

I fixed it today. The adjusting bolts were mushroomed over did not have the length to take up the slack in the hub. The hub and axle were fine. I put some new bolts in and all is well. Thank you for the explanation on how to tighten the adjusters. Thanks to all for the help I even had enough time to play with my new toy today.

This is good to know, I reversed my rear wheels a while back, and had no Idea, I will have to take the tractor out in the AM as I am doing the oil, coolant, and filter thing. And will redo the lock down bolts.
