Are the studs that hold the exhaust manifold on the head replaceable? I am asking because when I went to put on my new exhaust manifold the studs are only about 3/4in long...they need to be about 2.50in or so long. The previous owner had the exhaust off when I bought it so I don't know how he had it on before. Maybe he ran it without the manifold on and the muffler bolted straight to the head.. I just don't know.

Here is a link to the thread on this tractor I started in the Parts/Repair section not to long ago..

They should be replaceable. If there not you can drill and tap it. My manifold had nuts that hold it to the studs

Had some time today and was able to remove all four of the studs with no problem. Some penetrating spray and the old double nut trick backed those babies out with ease:cool:

are you going back with studs or just going to bolt it down?[/QUOT

I think I am going to just bolt it down. When I run out to the feed store tomorrow I will stop at Lowes and see what they got!

This time of Yr. I'm around my YM2000 a lot. And remembered to look what I had. It's bolts which is what I thought. I removed them and the muffler just a few yrs. after I bought it. I was looking for carbon, oil,etc.. It was a new muffler which is were the new bolts came from so I cleaned the cap up and put it back on. The bolts tightened right up and has stayed that way for Yrs............ looking back I even have a Pic..

I washed out my muffler I think it was a year ago. I think that was a maintence item in the list or as needed? I didn't need it but was just curious. a pretty good bit of carbon came out of it though!
