Yanmar 1610
I have a Yanmar 1610 that kept blowing the 5A fuse. Troubleshooting led me to a 2" black box under the instrument cluster. The 2" black box contains a small circuit card (covered in epoxy) that is fed by 8 wires through a 9 pin connector. The 2" box has shorted diodes and heat damage and cannot be salvaged. I believe the old part number was 194420-57310, but is no longer available and I don't see that any replacements exist. I'm not sure what functions this box provides and I haven't found any replacements. Any help on what this box does and how to replace it is welcome

Voltage regulator / See if there is any alternator output

Aftermarket Regulator is my guess also. 1610 Voltage Reg. VR-522 6-plug If it was replaced with a 12V Alternator they used it for the old style. Fredricks are calling it WH-522 Wiring harness that replaces the old 4 wire plug.

Org.poster is a 1610. My parts show that the 1601 and the 1610 if converted to 12V. does use the same 12V. Alt. AL-1215.
I knew it was wierd. Had to check and was real sure. But it's the 12V. 1600 Alt. that uses a different setup. AL-1235. Why?
