tracter newbie, sorry if this is a stupid question. I had jacked up the tractor slightly to get a slightly too tall oil pan under the hydraulic drain. I noticed once the rear wheels were off the floor that they could move slightly (rock back and forth). I thought they would be tight to the axel like a car. There seems to be a pin securing them to the axel and 2 adjustable bolts with springs at right angles to each other. Is this movement normal, or should I be adjusting something to take that slight "slop" out?

No need to apologize. You should be able to tighten up the bolts with the springs on them to take out the slop. I recently bought a set of rims for turf tires and oddly enough, they have just one set of "set screws". This results in a little bit of play, but I don't notice it while under way. In the other picture (green rims) there are two "set screws" and those don't have any play on the hexagonal shaft when tightened.

You will want to ensure the axle play is eliminated. This is a commonly ignored item and will result in wear to both the hubs and the axle. Good observation.
