Is there anywhere to get information and specs on a YM135 besides buying a copy of the manual? I already know it's 13HP, 2WD, 2 cylinder, pretty much the basic things and am looking for more information about the 3 pt hitch, pto, etc.

I've recently begun the search for a small(ish) tractor and happened to find one of these for sale along the road and am just wondering where I can find some information about them.

Thanks in advance.

You've found the right place. Ask some questions

Welcome murphyce, I think I have a manual around somewhere. I'll look this evening if someone dosen't answer your questions beforehand. By the way, what are your questions ? Have you done a search here yet in the archives ? Lots of good info in there.

Thanks for responding guys. I did a search for YM135 while I was waiting for my account to be activated and just didn't find too much.

Basically, I've just purchased a lot that is a bit over an acre. This is more a case of WANTING a tractor than needing a tractor I think but oh well. My uses would primarily be moving dirt around to level the lot out a bit (not the enitre lot, just where I want to build), and maintaining a gravel drive. When I start to build I would also like to be able to use a post hole attachment on the tractor.

I've taken pictures of the YM135 that I saw sitting alongside the road so I know it has a 3 pt hitch so I can use a box blade or scraper/grader blade. I can't see from the pictures whether or not there is a rear PTO. Even if there is a rear PTO, would I be able to use this tractor with a post hole auger or is the tractor too small? What about a small front end loader? Is one made that would fit this tractor, or again, is the tractor just too small for one?

Loader available? Yes. IMO it's pretty much of a waste, as it costs almost as much as a loader for a 20-28hp tractor that will do MUCH more work. But remember, the "waste" part is just my opinion. I think you're whistling in the dark re: the PH digger. Maybe someone with a unit that small has used one and can comment...we won't mount a PH digger on a unit with less HP than the 1500, or smaller in size than the 1601/1610. What's the price? If it's cheap, then fine, but if not you may want to consider buying from a dealer who can support the specific unit you get.

You might consider a slightly larger tractor for about the same price. This will probably start a big debate here, but I think the ones that small should be considered specialty units, sized to fit through an urban back yard gate, and ideal in that sort of application. They are quite competent but a larger unit can do a lot more at very little increase of cost if you don't need that extreme compactness.

He only has 1 acre guys............

But I agree, he might need a little more tractor than this to do what he wants with it.

Murphyce, I have a 1602D, it's about as small as I'd want to go, and I only have 3 acres. Maybe something in that range would suit? I have a FEL, Box Blade tiller etc. HP wise, it seems plenty for everything I do with it. I found that a zero steer mower (ZTR) worked out a whole lot better for me for mowing duties tho, unless your ground is flat and smooth, and you're not mowing around lots of trees or other obstacles like I was.

The 1600's are 3 cyl, BTW..............

I have used a PHD with my 1510, though I admit, I debated for a few days before trying it. Every hole went well including one where I hit a good sized piece of limestone. Pulled up the PHD and was able to dig out the limestone with a shovel and finish the hole. So while I'm not sure I'd actually recommend using a PHD, I did manage to use one safely for one project. Yes, one, so I can't say oh yeah, go right ahead. Given the opportunity I will probably use my neighbor's Oliver for any future post hole digging. It was his PHD anyway!

The 135 is substantially less tractor than the 1510. I would sell a PH digger with a 1510, but not a 1300 or 135.

Thanks again for all of the replys. As I mentioned, this is definitely more a want than a need and as such, have trouble justifying spending a significant amount of money right now. The YM135 that I saw was posted for $1850 and that is a pallatable price, but not if the tractor won't easily do what I want it to do. Having said that though, since it isn't a huge need for 1 acre, I don't want to get much over $2000 either (for the tractor, I realize attachments will add more).

Part of the reason for my post was to find out if there are sites out there that readily have information on these and similar tractors that I just haven't found yet. Given the wealth of information on the internet, I'm surprised at how little I've been able to find, short of being willing to buy a manual.

You guys have given me good information and I appreciate it, I just wish there was a site I could go to where the information was readily available without asking on a forum. It would be different if I had information that I could contribute to others but I don't so I'm hesitant to keep coming back and asking the same information over and over again, just about different tractors each time.
