Gentlemen

I have about 15 Acres that I would like to clean up and till.

I was thinking a 5' brush cutter and a 4' tiller.

Would this tractor be up to the task? I'm new at this. One thing I like, it's compact enough for getting under trees.

Any suggestions or anyone using this tractor in a similar role?

Thank you, David...

5 ft bush hog is fine and you could easily run a 5 ft tiller also. Why are you thinking about such a small one.

To be honest the only tillers I have ever owned have been the Yanmar tillers and a few Hinomoto tillers. They worked great for yearly garden tilling. They are built a little lighter than what you would buy new at the tractor dealer but on average they cost $100 a foot and that is about 1/2 of what you would pay for a new one. If you are like me and use it only once or twice a year it is a bargain. On the bush hogs same story. There are many local brands and they are usually not as nice as a Bush-Hog or Rhino brand but for the money they will get the job done. They won't last as long and their fit and finsh isn't as nice. It just depends on whether you want to spend $500 or $1000. There are a few in between those prices also.

Horsepower and traction with a 2610D should not be a problem. When selecting a tiller for an appropriately powered tractor, you should do so with the rear track in mind. Measure the OUTSIDE distance between the back wheels, then buy a unit wide enough to till up the tire tracks.

Shear pin or slip clutch protection would be a must if tilling around trees/roots. I have put over 200 hours on my 2610D without any problems. It handles a 4 1/2 ft Yanmar tiller & 5 foot cutter very well.

I agree yanmar hino and iseki tillers work just as good as american counterparts yet 1/4 the cost.. but a ccm is the way 2 go for new one.
