I am chasing a leak that is emptying my front axle. I replaced the knuckle seal as it seemed to be coming from there but I now think its where knuckle bolts to the horizontal axel. Problem is I cant figure out if there is actually a seal in there from looking at the parts manual and I am hesitant to take it apart in case there isn't a seal or I create additional problems. I reached out to All State parts but they said they dont have a parts manual to look it up???? I dunno - thought that was a bit strange.

Anyone happen to know???

Probably an optical illusion but looks like the bottom crack is wider than the top. Are all bolts tight? 24321-000700
@Scotty Dive I too would echo Winston's observations.

Additionally, over time, vibration and sudden impacts from the wheel into the axle, you may need to take the area apart to examine flatness and surface-to-surface smoothness. Deburr any raised ridges of pushed out material.

Ill double check but I had already checked tightness but I do want to measure or look more closely to see if there is a difference is gap. Thanks for that link Winston ..it doesnt list my exact model but is the consensus that it fits most front axels?

Maybe a new gasket is in order?

I believe that is the lower housing gasket. If I am understand correctly he is looking for the axle housing to gear case o-ring.

That is the part number given in the 2020 parts manual so I think it should be correct.

Use all them if need be. Not all that much of a problem. Or to it for that matter. Make a Gasket using Gasket paper. Double thick and Permatex even. I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it. The housing maybe busted or cracked. He'll be looking harder at it now when tries to fiqure out what the problem is?

Scotty, did you ever find where the leak is coming from?
