YM 195 leaking around pto plate

Could anybody tell me how hard it would be to remove the pto plate and reseal it on a YM195 ?

According to the I&T manual, not that hard. Here is a page out of it.

Thanks Winston I hope it's that easy thought I read somewhere things could drop in the case and be hard to put back.

Winston, I checked the leak closer today and discovered it's not the pto plate. It's both axle housings leaking. The previous owner must have done a repair and did a bad seal job. I hope the gaskets are available for this. Do you have any idea if the axle and housing can be removed as a unit?

Yes, I think it can. You will have to remove rear wheel, the pto assembly, remove retaining bolt on the final reduction gear, then remove axle housing retaining bolts and take it off.

Does the manual show a picture of the retaining bolt you are talking about or could you explain where that bolt is?

Probably don't need anything but just noticed Aaron with Hoye posted the has gotton in a 195 parts tractor.

Thanks I don't think I'll need to do anything but replace the gaskets.If the gaskets are not available I could make them.

I am guessing this is them. Is this a bad leak? Lots of trouble to stop a small leak. Bolts all tight? Yanmar Tractor Parts REAR AXLE TUBE GASKET

Leaking onthe bottom on both sides. It leaked about 5 tablespoons in 24hrs. Bolts are tight. That looks like the gasket. I may tear it down to make sure I don't need anything else. May need brke shoes.
