And your are probably far more likely to die in a house fire or get shot, than die on your tractor. Face it. It's interesting when people die. But to take the point of view, that we have to revisit this whole tractor safety thing, or similar, is a bit much. Let's then start at the top preventable causes of death and work our way down the list.

When we get to tractors, we will mandate another ten or so warning decals on each machine and move on.

it should repeated until all people use common sense with a tractor. I really don't think we have to wait until thousands more die!..

I think it has been WELL ESTABLISHED that you can't enforce or even suggest common sense. Sorry. People are going to die. In the end, we all do. In that sense. It's not a horrible thing and perfectly natural. As natural as life.

How many does smoking kill? Or automobiles? Sure it's unfortunate, but let's keep it in perspective.
I think you'd need to figure hours of use along with how many people use each as well. I'd imagine a full time farmer may have more seat time than an average driver (or smoker). Then again, there's lots more drivers than tractor operators.

They took their eyes off road for a second, climbed the tire of the truck they were sideswiping and rolled over.

Confidence can be dangerous sometimes. There have definitely been hills I shouldn't have been on before. RIP.
