yet another custom backhoe subframe

Maybe 250lb? Just an estimate, based on lifting each piece. I am
modifying a small hydraulic cylinder I just bought to make a hanging
hydraulic scale to use with my loader. I am always guestimating
weights with questionable accuracy......

One of the first uses will be to weigh my semicustom-built trailer.

OR ... steel is .28333 lbs per cubic inch. Just a little calculation for you.
In any case, it's heavy duty and I say for tractor purposes, the heavier, the better.

Here is another photo of the hoe side of the subframe, as requested.

The upper part connects to the bar that goes over the axle housing. Not shown it the 5th point of attachment, the enhanced toplink.

After 16y and 200 hours of digging, the subframe has held up fairly well. I have only taken it off when time for replacing hydraulic filter (every 400 hours), which is blocked. I recently replaced O-rings in the valve stack, plus the 6 heim joints used in the joysticks.

I leave the hoe mounted all the time, as the counterweight allows me to use the full capacity of the FEL. About 1400# total weight of hoe and subframe.

Two possible changes I would consider if doing this project over: even closer mounting to the back of the hoe, even if that means eliminating the steps on the sides, like the 4300 I did. Also, welding the hoe-side part of the subframe right to the hoe, instead of drilling and bolting would be easier to do.
