Yet another child killed by tractor

On our news yesterday there was a storey of a 4 year old killed by a tractor.

She was riding on the carry-all and mum was driving. Tractor stalled going up a hill, somehow child fell off and brakes on tractor weren't working and tractor rolled back over child.

So 2 lessons - No riders & make sure brakes are working !!!


Yesterday also watched a council guy on a Kubota ride-on mower (deck in front) slide about 4m sideways down an embankement he was trying to mow. I thought I was going to have to pick up his pieces but the mower didn't roll but just slid.

Sure makes me more carefull too !

I can only imagine what it would be like to have been the operator of a tractor that killed a child; whether your own or not. That's got to be a terrible thing to live with.
