I have realized over the years that I have seen small tendencies that I could attribute to my father, but yesterday I had confirmation that the transformation was complete when I went the SCAG dealer to get a can of touch up paint. When they said the spray can of authentic SCAG paint was $27 and change, I felt my late father channeling thru me when I said "Are you out of your mind!!???" I guess my mower deck is going to be CAT yellow. $5.99 at Tractor Supply.

I have bought Cat yellow directly from Cat (in gallons) and found their pricing to be very reasonable.
I believe their supplier is Sherwin Williams, and it is excellent paint. Much better quality than the "Majic" brand junk that TSC sells.
I don't recall if Cat sells their paint in spray cans, but I think maybe not.

droptop, felt the same way when I got a can of Kubota for front end guard. You know contrasting color on the deck to the mower might be a great idea. One is if enough contrast is stolen easy to describe.

Try Rustoleum Painter's Touch 2X in Satin, Rustic Orange color. Available at Home Depot for under $4. It's nearly an exact match.

I'm still fighting it. When I want to go cheap, I think of how many times my dad would redo a repair because he cut corners, and then I spend more money and take longer to do what I'm working on.

I usually start with the best quality option, and then sometimes back off to come up with the most economical choice without losing too much quality. I didn't realize it at the time, but looking back I realize my dad would just jump to the cheapest option. At least I learned enough to not do that. My brother tends to follow my dad's way of thinking even after asking for advice first.
