i don't think its going away for one reason ,the 422 is the only tractor that doesn't require a rops.22 hp.and don't require it.if they don't like the robin why don't they go with 22 hp. kohler?

No, conversion is not financially smart

my own quote:( Terry feels that the conversions are going to be costly but will get back to me ... i am off to plow some 6-10 inches of snow and hope to have the answers posted by the weekend. )

spoke to Terry this morning and he informed me that the different mounting brakets of the wheel motors, the plumbing, the material cost for the changeover would not be financially a wise move.

it is their opinion that if you need the added torque and lift height you would be better of to tread your old one in ....... well my answer is, hans go and make some more money and when needed buy a bigger, diesel powered machine .... but what am i going to do with the small areas.

oh well, the 1400 series can do 30% slopes, so that will get me closer to the mountain goat division that Charlie and Sedgewood belong to /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( I still do not understand the cost difference between the 422 and the 425. I can see $1,000 ($500 ROPS and $500 larger engine), but not $2000. )

My thoughts ,too...I feel I got a heck of a lot of trac. for $6500(ROPS inc) and now that I replaced the coils(& starter) this thing fires right off at 20deg F--no cranking and no heaters...My zeal is resumed!

( It does seem that Power Trac is making an effort to satisfy customer wants and needs: ie: higher lift capacity, stronger wheel motors, more versatile attachments etc. I think this tractor is still in the infant stages of sales potential. )

What a difference a month makes...now, for that $2k, I would have popped for stronger wheel motors and more lift and a couple more ponies /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
There is definitely room here in the midwest for a "tool" as versatile as the PT, they just need more exposure...

Since I haven't been able to put time on my unit yet, wonder if they'll take a trade... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

30%??? When I spoke to Ed this past weekend, I thought he said 30deg. Please educate me as I'm just ready to pull the trigger on a 1430 order.
