Can anyone tell me how to remove my turn signal switch on my YM1401D? I have unhooked the wires and tested it. Everything works except the switch. I just don't want to break anything taking it apart. Thanks for your help.

I've seen two types for your tractor...one has a very small set screw at the horizontal base of the plastic switch. You can remove it with a mm allen wrench and it does go into the metal stem where the knob is mounted.

The other has a small roll-pin and can be (gently) tapped out with a fine drift pin punch. Both have a small hole and just visible upon close inspection. Then you can access the bezel nut that holds the assembly in place.

Not the answer to your question but not much use for turn signals in this country. There is one thing you can do as you install the switch and hook up the wires. If you move both left and right wires are moved to one side, both lights flash at the same time, good for road flashers with no further changes. If you have to drive your tractor on the highway, it's a great way to get seen a little better and not have to add any other hardware.

Getting rid of the turn signals and making them into flashers is what I have decided to do. I am just going to put in a toggle switch and replace the current switch. Thanks for your help.

You might leave the switch and wire it as left turn = flashers and right turn turns on a rear work light.

That sounds like a great idea. I think I may do that once I get an ROPS, or FOPS installed

If one side of the contacts in the original switch is still good, you can make it work as flashers by just moving both wires to the good side. If you do this it retains the original look, just an idea.
