Gray market means that Yanmar won't support the tractors here. They are great tractors. I think the best compacts in the world for the date they were made! My 30 year old Yanmar with "power shift trans" out does alot of modern tractors. You have to be able to work on them. Parts are currently easy to find for most models. I think the units u mention are all good units. You can get most parts form Hoye the sponsor of this forum. You may be able to find a local mechanic to work on them but u will prob need to get parts for them online, mail order etc.. Some John Deere parts interchange if you know the part Numbers. Yanmar made most of the Deere compacts for alot of years. I think as a rule it is easier and cheaper to get parts for your Yanmar then for an old Deere compact. Some of the Deere guys get parts from the Yanmar guys for Deere products. You can get Rops for most Yanmars now. It is hard to advise someone! Ebay pulls Gray market tractors from auctions now. I bought my tractor on ebay. I always thought I would someday sell it on Ebay. It does not look like I can do that now. I love my tractor but I kinda wish I would have bought a Mahindra or similar because of Yanmar's attitude toward these units. Yanmar are not the only Gray market tractor. Mitsubishi, Hinomoto, kubota and others can be gray market units. Hope this helps some!
