O.K. Folks...I should probably know this, but only think it's true. Are all Yanmar engines #1 cylinder at the back (flywheel side) ?
Everything I've read, worked on and seen, including a few 3 digit made for America Yanmars indicates the #1 cylinder at the rear. I have just been into a 3T75U engine on a YM1610 and everything indicates the camshaft has been timed (to the crankshaft) to the forward cylinder, #3 at TDC.
It's obvious that someone has been into the engine before me, and I'm thinking they have timed it off the wrong cylinder....it does run but poorly with no power. Am I wrong here??
