Yanmar/John Deere Starter Motor Help

i am looking for a starter motor for a JD 3016D 6270.

i am pretty sure this is a yanmar engine.

JD wants $1100 for the starter so i am trying to find a better priced one.

anyone able to help?

found one from local shop.

part number 91-25-1134 the mechanic thinks it is a hitatchi starter.

and found a solenoid for the old one part number SHI6017.

Why not just buy the part(s) that you need (brushes, switch, etc. shows parts number on JD Parts website?

$1100??!! that is absolutely insane, and border-line sinful. i buy starters from Cat for c-15 and 3406 engines for about half that

we also bought the parts we need and now have a starter on the shelf.

Starter rebuild would probably around $65 to $75.

We had a starter go out twice on our XUV 850D. Wanted $550 for a new starter at the dealership. Tried to get it rebuilt locally and apparently there was nothing wrong with it. found one on Ebay for $75. We have two diesel gators, one XUV and one TH 6X4 and 2 JD diesel front mount mowers that all use the same starter. I bought 2 and keep one on the shelf should another one go out.
