Hello from Ohio,
Bought a 955 JD Tractor that would not start.
Yanmar 33hp motor Yanmar 51360 injection pump
Forgive me if i do not know the correct part names but
No fuel was getting past the IP. After new battery and working the
starter a few times the fuel shutoff started working on it's own.
removed the injector lines, bone dry,
Removed the side plate and 2 of the "tappets" were not moving at all.
Took the valve bodies off of the top. all looked clean but #1 cylinder
was the only one that cycled with the key switch.
sprayed it all good with pb blaster and tapped the center plungers
gently with a brass punch 2 freed up and center one was stuck. There is a large
hole in the side of one of the plunger housings. I was able to insert a dental
tool in the center assembly and tap gently bringing that housing up and out
of the pump. Used a 22cal bore brush to clean the dark film. Now all of that works freely.
Put the valve assembly's back on the pump. all works freely but no fuel up top..
NOW fuel oil fastly trickles down through into the lower tappet housing. I do not think
it is supposed to flood that lower housing. In a parts breakdown I did not see any
seals separating the fuel chamber from the tappet chamber.
What am I overlooking or not doing here.
