Yanmar Diagnostic Cable, Wireless I/F Box?

I bought this off eBay today for some reason. I'm thinking it's like an OBD scanner, but for a Yanmar? Has anyone here used something like this?

That is a wireless interface box for Smart Assist-Direct. Until a consumer version of Smart Assist-Direct is released this box is only usable by those that have Smart Assist licenses.

What is a Smart Assist License? Only dealer?
