Just wanted to show off my new Continental KTR-48/ YQM-48 belly mower I got of CL. Runs off the rear pto. Havent got it fully adjusted/operating yet, needs belt ,blades, grease, but otherwise in great shape for an old mower. Fits my YM1110d perfectly.
I discovered these 3ph belly mowers a couple years ago and have been looking for one ever since. It seems folks have little interest in them, they typically sell cheap compared to conventinal belly mower types. Dont know why, they hook up fast and easy.
Anyone with a grey market tractor wanting a belly mower should consider one of these.

Cool mower! You just drive over it to get it hooked up?

Yep..back over it..thats what its designed for. The two side pulley guards are made of extra-thick sheet metal, actually 1/8 or 3/16'' steel with 1/4'' supports. I did 1st time no-problem, in 4wd of course. Hooked up in 90seconds or so.

Oh boy, I might be tempted to buy that if it weren't so far away! Obviously the pulley cover would need to be replaced somehow.

I had mine shipped. Northern Missouri to Minnesota=$130. Just needs to be palletized for that price.

Ag-Meier out of Belton Tx bought up Continental Belton and from what Ive read, still provides parts and manuals. I am planning on calling them Monday.

That is waaaay too close. :)

How much work is it to get one of these on and off? How good of a job do they do mowing? A big appeal to me is the more intuitive nature of mowing with a mid-mount mower deck, just like a lawn tractor.

For me, it was really no more work than hooking up the rear finish mowers that I had. Then hook up the front chains to preset hooks bolted on the tractor, and the rear chains hooked to the top link and its done.
Ive never mowed with one, so I cant tell you how well they mow. Read mixed reviews on them on this site and others, mostly the only negatives were ground clearance on small tractors when not in use. One guy coudnt back over his due too smaller tires spinning.
I have a Kubota belly mower on my Kubota B2400 and its not without issues.
