I put a garret t3/t4 turbo on this tractor. It came with an IHI turbo that cost $1500.00 to replace, the garret was $200.00. The exhaust manifold was custom made to accept this change. The t3/t4 hybrid was used to allow a quick spool-up at low rpm. The motor is blown now but the turbo worked perfectly. This is on the 3T90T engine which was used on the JD 950 and 1050.

How did it run wide open with the new turbo? Smoke? Maybe too much fuel on the top end without the same boost and EGTs got out of control blowing the motor? might be a good idea to install a pyrometer on the next motor
