I purchased a Yanmar 180D last year to do some mowing on a remote piece of property. I didn't really get to use it much until now.

What I have found out is that in using the 3pt is that it won't stay down. I have to hold the 3pt handle to keep the hitch from raising on it's own.

I haven't researched this in the user's manual yet, plan to this weekend, but wondered if you Yanmar owners can tell me if this is normal behavior or there is an adjustment to stop this "feature".

TIA

Is the lever actually moving up on its own like it just needs tightened or is the lever staying put but you have to push it down to keep the three point from lifting? Either way not normal.

There is both a friction plate & a stopper on the YM180.

The lever is moving forward. If I hold it in place all is okay, except trying to keep it in one spot and drive.

The shaft that the 3pt lever is on has a nut on the end (and a jam nut). I tightened the nut and now it stays in position. Of course it is harder to move the lever.

Not sure if that is what you meant by tighten the friction plate but at least it is holding. Thanks.

is there a rod from the lift arms to the actuaor / lever arm. My 1500 has this, and its set to switch off the lift once the arms raise over a certain point. would this need adjusting?

Maybe a little too tight?

Yes there is a rod that connects from the lift arm to the control lever. I have been looking at it trying to determine if there is some adjustment required. So far I haven't come to a final determination.
