I have been looking at purchasing a compact tractor and have been impressed with the Yanmar 324/424 and the Kioti CK2510. Both do not seem to have the SSQT FEL bucket and the Yanmar has a really small bucket at 5.65 cu.ft. vs the Kioti at 7.8 cu.ft. I relate this in mind to a wheelbarrow at 6 cu.ft. Should I be concerned with the bucket size, are there any options? What are users real world experience with the fel and bucket? Also if you have any other info that would sway me either way, regarding the 324/424, that would be great.
Thanks!

What material will you be using the FEL on, what type of environment and how often do you need to perform this task.?
(I remember as a child asking my uncle why he had so many different shovels, and he told me that they were "matched" for the job and the type of material being moved.)

A while ago, I was comparing the 424 to the Kioti CK2610. For just a few more bucks, the Kioti won big time. I would put the 2510 equal to the 424. Just my opinion, I don't have either one.

Your uncle makes sense. As with most things the FEL will be used for many things, soil, mulch, gravel small and big, wood, etc. It will be used at a public Garden so the tractor will see lots of different uses.

The Kioti's impress me and I did look at the CK2610. The public Garden thinks it could use a tad smaller tractor, possibly less impact and a little more maneuverable. I'm trying to find that balance point between that use and enough power to be able move bigger boulders, rocks, stumps and similar. I like the two different pedals on the Yanmar for forward and reverse. The CK2620 is similar but the CK2510 looks to have a treadle pedal similar to a Kubota? Not sure if using that is good or not so good? Thanks.

The treadle pedal was a PIA for me. It is really personal preference, some folks will swear by the treadle. If at all possible, sit on the machines and feel which is most comfortable for use. The specs are all close for either, you probably wouldn't notice a difference in performance. Not sure how much price differences there are from the dealers in your area.

Had a Kioti for 15 yrs loved it switched to a 424 two years ago and I love it also. Only have 150 hrs so far and it seems like a great machine. The only thing I am disappointed with is the cruise control. When I got it would not hold speed so I called and they replaced the unit and it is a little better but still will not stay where you engage it. But that said I would buy another one in a minute. The reason I switched is the dealers for KIOTI seem to be getting less and less but I loved the tractor. Yanmar has a great reputation. I got the 424 with dif lock, cruise control, and 5ft finish mower, front loader, box scraper, 4ft rototiller, back blade, and spreader and it handles everything with ease.

Thanks alcorn2506! I assume the bucket size on the 324 and 424 are the same? Do you think the bucket is big enough for what you use it for? I guess the QA is proprietary to Yanmar so more difficult to use a 3rd party bucket, possibly larger or grapple?

I believe they are the same. I believe they also offer a 60" bucket vs the 54" bucket that comes with it., but I have been satisfied with mine. The turning radius on the 424 is much better than my KIOTI and the ground clearance is incredible, one of the things I really liked. I got the 424 because I liked the bigger tires and I only wanted to do this one time. I bought mine and one of my good friends tried it and he bought one too. Filled the back tires and love the traction, hardly ever have to use 4wd and the tractor feels really grounded.

The tractor are the same, but 424 has bigger wheels
