Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel addition

Hey guys,
I got a JD F1145 that I got. The mower is junk but the engine it still good. The engine is a 28hp yanmar 3 cylinder diesel and I would like to put a turbo on it. Ive read that the Yanmar engines are rated higher than what they put out. So I am guessing the block and engine can withstand a turbo. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

If you don't' jack up the injectors the turbo won't really increase the power. It will help it burn cleaner and do more with the fuel you do use.

You can get good money for it. Or, I have seen those made into a sweet little genset like this one.

I build custom golf carts so I am putting this in a cart. I did one with a 15hp kubota 3 cylinder so this is going to be the next size up with a turbo. Mainly I want it for the sounds.

You could get that electronically. I saw an Electric train on Youtube that you ride and it had all the electronic sounds.

I hope those carts "light" otherwise, I can't see the point of putting power in a vehicle that has little capability.
