Yanmar 187D fel bushhog tilt not working

Was a nice day in NC today, so I decided to take my 187d out of its cover to run it and make sure everything was working before winter sets in.

I noticed my joy stick will lift the arms up and down but will not tilt the bucket.

I tried to push it pretty hard and no movement. Looks like the piston is stuck.....any ideas on how to approach fixing this??

I had a similar problem about a year ago on my YM240. I was able to disassemble the valve and clean out the valve body and plunger spring, which was thoroughly gunked up, and the washer would sometimes get off-center and catch, causing exactly the problems you describe. After cleaning it well, it's working fine. I don't know how the joystick valve is set up, but the principles must be the same.

Thanks...how about the "pressure on the lines"? I have not every messed with any part of the lift and hydraulic system before....so any info on precautions on what not to do would be appreciated.....

I just wiggled the valves back and forth once I was ready to work on it, I figured that would equalize the pressure. Figured, mind you, I'm not positive... :laughing:

I just slowly and gently cracked the pressure line or the valve cap, whichever I was working on, and had a rag over the thing to catch any drips. I never had fluid spurt out or anything like that, with the loader on the ground and so forth.

Is your loader tied into the divider block under the seat, or is it powered by a separate pump?
