Yanmar 186D loader hydraulic filter

Good work guys. Confirms the Ford filter will work, as long as you don't buy Frams which go down to like 5 microns I guess if what Winston said is true.

I'm thinking that is the original YFL650 loader which was the 'Yanmar' loader for the YM186. The loaders Yanmar used were made in Canada from what I remember. I have not seen any with the KMW brand on them before but it sure looks a lot like (ok... identical to) the YFL650.

The filter setup is just the regular YM186 hydraulic filter.

I am in Canada as is the tractor. Could be they attached them here when they were imported. There is no Yanmar marking on the loader, but it is identical to those pictures.

Aaron (Hoye) has it right according to some research I did on my backhoe after I bought it. KMW built the 'OEM' attachments sold by Yanmar USA (which I expect includes machines sold in Canada). Since these are identical loaders with the same model #, the difference may be only the year sold and that ID tag.

Related, my backhoe was sold as 'OEM' by both Yanmar-US and Kubota-US for a few years about 1980. The only difference was paint color and decals. I'm pretty sure KMW built it, too. Somewhere there's an old post where I described my research and conclusions. It might also be the same backhoe sold as OEM John Deere, since the only place I could find replacement bucket teeth, had my teeth listed as made for Deere's backhoes and nothing else.

I found that KMW was sold/merged into another firm long ago.

At any rate, for Yanmars sold around 1980, the 'OEM' backhoe and I assume the loader use generic SAE-spec parts so any hydraulic shop in NA can service them.

Can someone post a picture of the loader handle and linkage as mine looks homemade.

No that's the real thing. My YM186D has the same monkey-motion linkage. Not as corroded but not clean metal, either. Your cast aluminum (?) handle looks more professional than what I have. I'm home right now but as I recall, the handle on mine is just sheet metal bent to similar shape.


Edit: I found a 2014 photo, where I replaced the loader's quick-connects. This enlargement shows the linkage like yours - and the cheap but satisfactory handle.

I agree with California, that looks really corroded. I don't know how easy it would be to repair that or look for a different valve.

Anyone have a parts book for the loader that they can share? Or know the brand of the loader valve?
I would like to repair instead of replace...really need the swivel piece as that is quite worn.

Yup, I just picked up here in Canada 226D and same funny handle to operate the bucket. Good info guys.
