Which of these tractors has a better longevity and fewer problems? I'm interested in buying one or the other. In all tractor manufacturing, there is one tractor that outlasts and out performs with less problems than other tractors by the same manufacturer. Just curious what Yanmar tractor that would be.

IMHO. I believe the YM2210 was a one year only model (77?) From a parts availability standpoint it does make this tractor less desirable.

I think longevity and problems in general are relative to the tractors care and maintenance history. The obvious differences are 3 cyl vs. 2, 2 wheel drive vs. 4, weight and HP.

I have a 1610D and am very happy with it. The biggest consideration (again IMO) would be a tractor that will meet your needs and a dealer that is well established and honest.

Welcome, and good luck. Mark

I agree with Mark777 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The YM1610-d has always been my favorite.
Parts are easy to find, easy to work on, small enough to get in a barn, yet it has power for the field too.
just watch that shift lever when you dismount !!

The 2210 and 2210B were made over at least a two year range and possibly 3. Most Yanmar models were made for only 2 years anyway. The 2210 shares many parts with the 2000, and we have found them as easy to get parts for as just about anything else. It makes a great loader tractor. 1610 is without question a fine unit, but the 2210 will eat it for lunch when it comes to working.
