Yanmar 1401D questions

I am contemplating the purchase of a Yanmar 1401D (2 pt lift)to put a snowblower on. I would like to know if this would be a good combination for Minnesota winters and what brand snowblower would be best for residential use. I am also wondering about the value of a Yanmar 1401D. I am in the Military and have to leave home for extended periods so I am looking for something to make snow removal a bit easier for my wife and kids. I would appreciate hearing from anyone about this tractor.

Jim - I have a Yanmar 2210D - I think your 4WD 1401 would do well in the snow - I think a lot of it depends on your wife's enthusiasm for the tractor - I think any wife would prefer hydrostat etc. I know parts are available for Yanmars - If there's an issue do you have a relative or someone that can help her if a problem arises? What is the cost of the tractor you are looking at?

The price is yet undetermined and if you know where I can properly value the tractor that would be great also. I agree a hydrostatic would be nice but my wife is a farm girl so I think she could do it, though it would be nice if the blower were up front but I have not seen any. The other Soldiers in my Unit are very good about helping out when someone is gone so I am sure they would be there for her. We had previously been using a 4 wheeler with a plow but it would be nice to get the snow far away from the driveway instead piling it up on the sides. What type of blower do you use?
